Photobooths.

Booths in Restuarants.
I’m a fan of booths in general. I, like many other couples, jumped on the photo booth bandwagon. There’s a myriad of reasons of why a photo booth is probably one of the most awesome things ever. I can drone on for hours about it. Bar none, a photo booth is worth it whether you rent an actual machine or doing it on your own.
DIY Photo booths are on the rise because like all things awesome, it comes with a price and renting a photo booth most definitely cost a couple of bucks. I, like many, wanted to go this route but after planning a bazillion DIY projects and not having enough time, sadly, it ended up on the cutting room floor. Thus is why we actually rented an actual photo booth. Now, I don’t regret not DIY’ing our photo booth but I do have experience with DIYing a photobooth. The hubs and I made one for my sister in law’s bridal shower two years ago and let me tell you, its work. There are things that I would change if I had to doing it again, but I think it was successful.
I’m not a fancy shower curtain kind of gal. I’m the one that goes for what’s cheapest. However, if I owned my home, had a claw footed tub, I could see myself buying a fancy shower curtain. Since I don’t have a real reason to consider getting a fancy curtain, I usually gloss over it. However, if I was going to do a DIY photo booth again, I would definitely consider getting a fancy shower curtain.
As I was doing my usual gander through Urban Outfitters, I found these gems:
Urban Outfitters: Paris Shower Curtain: $28.00
They also have this with a NYC’s Brooklyn Bridge!
Urban Outfitters: Aviary Shower Curtain: $38.00
Urban Outfitters: Silhouette Flower Shower Curtain: $38.00
Urban Outfitters: Falling Leaves Shower Curtain: $38.00
Urban Outfitters: Waterfall Ruffle Shower Curtain: $68.00
This comes in different colors as well!
Urban Outfitters: Pockets Shower Curtain: $20.00
You can fill it with all your favorite pictures, cd covers, postcards, etc. I think this is a great way to personalize it.
I think with a simple frame, some cheap clear hooks, I think you’re ready to go. I don’t know you’ve already seen this, where this guy had set up a DIY photo booth for his sister’s wedding, but he also used Ikea shower curtains as well for the background!

Missed me? Probably not, but I thought I would ask anyway. I hope that you all have been well and I will definitely follow-up this post with another explaining my absence from the blog for the last month or so. But anyway, back to the post.
While doing my usual retail snooping, I found this gem at Urban Outfitters:
Source: Urban Outfitters: LOL Disposable Camera
It’s called the LOL Disposable Camera and it puts the below frames around the photos you take.

I know, I know. Film is on the way outs and everyone uses digital today, so why would you want to buy something like this? And my answer to something like that is just because. I still have a huge love affair with film. There’s just something about it that makes it even more fun and elegant than digital. Don’t get me wrong, I love digital. But the thought of not knowing how a certain photo will turn out until you go develop it still makes my heart a flutter.
Thinking of doing disposable cameras on tables at your reception? If so, this might be a good alternative to just the normal disposable cameras. Urban Outfitters is only carrying a limited amount of these babies (4000 to be exact) and they sell for $12 dollars a piece. $12 bucks is pretty steep, but for the different frames it comes in, I think the pictures will be pretty much priceless.
Also, if your guests are wondering what frame will show up with a certain picture, there’s a guide on the back of the camera to make sure they make the most of the photo. Still not convinced on how it will turn out and if it’s awesome? Click this link to see how it really looks.
I’m sold. Now, I just have to convince my wallet that it’s worth it. What do you think?
