Yes Please: Alcoholic Chocolate
Posted on: September 24, 2009
I’ll admit it. I have a major sweet tooth. I love anything that has sugar in it. I love sweets of all kinds except for licorice, which my husband kindly and willingly eats on my behalf.
But let’s talk about the best kind of sweets in my book, chocolate. The other day, I found out that Ethel M’s makes a variety of awesome adult type of chocolates. What I mean by “adult type of chocolate” is that anyone under 21 probably shouldn’t try these babies out. These chocolates are made of beer and even alcohol. Totally. Bananas.
What sort of cocktails is these? Ethel M has concocted such drinks like spiced rum, brandy, champagne, mojitos and margaritas. However, like being at the bar and ordering a drink that isn’t a shirley temple, you do need to be 21 to order or buy in the stores.
For the beer chocolates, they are made of a stout brew, citrus zest, and smoky chipotle. These are perfect for the beer connoisseur or as advertised on the Ethel M’s website, good for a football gathering.
They are pricey but very worth it. I’ve had the pleasure of tasting some of these chocolates and they are out of this world. If you were wondering, Ethel M’s do have chocolate for kiddies like the standard fare of nuts, chews, and truffles. So, you can treat yourself to a box of the beer and cocktails chocolates and get Billy or Jane a box of regular chocolate they like. I say it’s a win-win situation.
How about a party of your best girlfriends and looking for something different to serve? Or something unique to put on your dessert table at your wedding? This might be the ticket.
However, Ethel M do have some other fun chocolate that you don’t need an id to get them. They have created chocolate that is infused with fruit, tea and ones made from popular cakes and desserts that are loved by everyone (i.e. cheesecake, crème brulee, etc.).
It’s nothing too crazy over the top, but creatively tasty enough to make me want to crave them as I post this. Visit Ethel M at : http://www.ethelschocolate.com/
